2 Kidd Smoke /c02 Dectors Wont Stop Beeping

February 9, CHUB CAY, BAHAMAS

Good news, we could retrieve our computers sick. We made them take a sunbath for Bahamas dry them and not for sunbathing, and then met at a nice Yvon Bahamian who knew computers. She recovered our second computer and the first he had to change the hard disk. We lost all our files and photos but it seems we will be able to recover, we'll deal with arriving in Quebec.

We made a nice crossing No Name in Bimini, a little rough the first few hours but then a little calmer. The little pink pills were provided. Louise and Mark have enjoyed the experience of living preparations and make the crossing with us. Recommended by our friends at Del Gusto Mar, we were at the marina located on the South Island,''Bimini Sands Resort & Marina'', $ 1.10 foot, .20 c per gallon for water and $ 10 per day for electricity. Super clean showers, laundry, convenience store, small restaurant, swimming pool, beautiful beach are available. When there are more people, immigration is on site. As there was no crowd, Yvonne had to go to the airport, located 3 miles from the marina to customs. This year, Zenith was not 35 feet, it measured 34 feet, 9 inches, cost for our cruising permit and fishing in the Bahamas, $ 150 for the season (au lieu de 300$ l’année dernière).

C’est pour dire que le poisson frais bahamien, on en redemande, it is true that he was very good.

They left Sunday with the Continental flight to Fort Lauderdale. They returned to Quebec and we'll continue our journey through the Bahamas. Nassau next destination.

Having checked and rechecked the weather, we decided to leave Monday morning around 9: 00 hours to 22 hours of navigation and thus arrive in Nassau on Tuesday morning at dawn. Perfect weather was announced but Mother Nature has not fulfilled its promises. We left Bimini at 8: 30 pm, the sea is calm, no waves, no wind, 8-10 knots E, just the sound of a motor and the genoa accompany us, we're in no hurry and it would be like this all night, wonderful, browsing is that I love. The darkness settles in, we are ready and that's where it goes bad. Around 19: 00 pm, the wind begins to rise, 10-15-18-22 knots and waves also means wind is directly in the nose, not too comfortable as surfing! Yvon was forced to cross without the driver to try to counter the waves but not obvious in the dark. Around 23: 00 pm, we were 5 minutes from Chub Cay, we decided to stop at anchor Chub Cay and it was 0:15 we anchored after avoir fait 84 mn.

Comme nous ne pourrons pas partir avant jeudi pour Nassau, trop de vent annoncé, ce matin, nous pensions changer de mouillage et aller Fraser Hog Cay, located about 1: 30 hours of surfing but after seeing a cat and a Jeanneau of forty feet, nosed into the wave, we change our mind and we'll install the dock at the Marina Chub Cay is two minutes from our anchorage. The lady was very happy. Beautiful large marina, recent infrastructure not yet completed by cons. Gorgeous pool with pool bar, beach, sun loungers with cushions, toilets and showers not too clean. Rate in normal times: $ 4 feet, 40 feet minimum, .40 c per gallon for water. Since there is no world, we pay $ 2.75 foot, minimum 40 feet. They should be happy today since there are at least a dozen boats that came to take refuge here. This is the only marina located between Nassau and Bimini.

Normally, we should continue to Nassau on Thursday morning if the weather does not change.

you soon ...
