Which Finger Amethyst Can Wear

Moving to Bangalore has

Preamble: This section does that focuses on the case Bangalore. Overall it's a bit the same in all major cities but the ricks are still far more honest in Mumbai as they systematically refuse the meter in Chennai.

The Bus:

many lines, but also deprived public, tour the city and the bus is the best way to get around if you know where you are going. In fact, except the line number it is all written in Kannada and it is therefore ask the driver the route. There is no plan and no lines in the street does not know the network mapping. Also be aware that buses spend only in large arteries so it is with experience that one learns to master the means of locomotion. Their frequency, however, is very good (one every two minutes for someone who spends all from my house) but they are still bungs between 18 and 21H. When I say packed I'm not just talking to people close, it's downright human grapes hanging outside the bus.

Stops are quite distant from each other but we can raise and lower when you want because the doors are always open. Warning this does not mean that the driver will stop. When there is little traffic or an intersection is quite simple but I routinely see guys jumping a bus running more than 20km / h. I've already done the thing in reverse too: a huge sprint followed by a good jump millimeter (and a prayer that the bus does not slow down with a snap) all without putting your hands on the floor al'atterrissage in the corridor to preserve the white shirt.

As Bangalore is a city in perpetual modernization new buses made their appearances. They are similar to those found in Paris (the large air conditioning and more) but the price is simply twice. Exit the ride uncomfortable and the crowd (yeah the price is prohibitive for many) and hello comfortable seats. As we approach the subject it is nice to see that the controllers (one for each bus at all times, he comes to sell you the ticket) do not pay people who do not have much money and disabled or blind. Transport is thus implicitly free the poor.

Advantages:

+ Very cheap

+ Frequency passages

+ Fast ultimately

disadvan tages e :

- need to know where we are going and which bus you must take

- Uncomfortable because of suspensions nonexistent seats spartan and the crowd (after 18h)

Rate: is based on distance and decreasing. Count 2 / 3 rupees (5 cents) for a trip during less than 5 km and the maximum is 12 roupies (20 centimes) pour parfois 25 km.

/* Description de l’engin et photos à venir */

In a perfect world there would be no problems and everyone would follow the law:

Rs 6 per km day and 9 night (22h-6h30 approx)

Theoretically therefore there is no negotiation possible, but good theory in India ...

Often it is necessary to negotiate prices and many parameters come into play

Advantages:

+ is the mode of transport easier

+ No need to know the city

+ The vehicle is very manoeuvrable and sneaks not too bad in traffic

+ can go to 3 in (4 squeezing) which allows to share costs with his friends.

disadvan tages e :

- It's not expensive but far from being free either.

- It is therefore better able to negotiate

Rate: Ultimately we must therefore take about Rs.30 (50 cents) for a short ride and 150 (2.6 e) for long.

The Taxi

In addition there are real rickshaw taxis in India. The problem is there are no taxi written on it, then how will recognize? A color that is invariably white of course! Okay this does not help much as intelligence, the real hallmark is the backplate which is yellow. This is not necessarily convenient to recognize but anyway taxis are used only in certain cases. Indeed they are 2 more expensive than rickshaws and there is less limiting their use. However you can book a to advance to take you at the airport at 3am (which I'll do shortly) and how they work for companies they are for Most lot more honest than the rickshaw. In addition, some are small van that can accommodate 6 people and a lot of baggage that can make them even more interesting if you are numerous and charges.

Advantages:

+ Reliable and honest

+ Ability to book

+ Not so expensive if there is more than 5

+ can go to 3 in (4 squeezing) which allows to share the cost with friends.

disadvan tages e :

- Dear

- Harder to find but there are still many

Rate: At least Rs.12, 20 cents per km. Between Business Objects and the central station (one km 20aine) I know it takes is Rs.300 5 e .

The bus company:

To overcome the problems of transport and reduce traffic jams almost all large firms in Bangalore have a network of buses for their employees. At Business Objects there are 11 lines that crisscross the city by getting employees home before the morning and evening redepositing them. At 8 and 17H The city is the scene of a ballet bus placards bearing Intel, Infosys, IBM and Accenture. Through this service the transportation problem is limited to evenings and weekends.

Only 300 employees currently at BOBJ India and so there is a daily bus pass. We can not choose the times when you go to work. Nothing dramatic, since we can always take the Rickshaw and that companies that have large numbers such as SAP, HP, Siemens, HSBC ... offer several crossings a day.

Advantages:

+ No need to worry about are commuting

+ Punctual

+ Fast + Cheap

+ The friendly atmosphere on the bus since we know more and more people with time

disadvantages e deny s:

- need to work in a large company

- One pass per day if it does not work in a very large company

Rate: Next the company. Rs.970 (17 e) for Business Objects. I think it's free at Siemens.

Metro: No there is no metro in Bangalore, at least not yet since it is planned for 2011 but I still wanted to mention it. However there are only two lines expected at first contrast with the huge network of Delhi. More info here.

Rent a car: I did not test e but it is possible to rent a bike for 4 th day. I have no more information for those who want to rent a car.
